Set-top boxes from Sky

Sky has 3 digital set-top boxes to choose from to suit different needs, but all of them are HD-ready and include access to interactive features such as Red Button, as well as the 7-day Electronic Programme Guide.

Sky+HD box

The flagship Sky box offers the option to pause, rewind and record live TV, letting you save a programme for later, or watch back your favourite bits. If you can’t choose which programme, film or sport to watch then you can record one and watch another, or record both. The Sky+HD box is HD-ready, so you can order or upgrade to HD at any time, and watch TV with crisp, clear picture and sound quality. The box also offers access to interactive features, the 7-day EPG and Sky Anytime+, which is an on demand library of content that can be downloaded to your TV through a Sky Broadband connection.

Sky+HD 1TB box

The Sky+HD 1TB box comes with every feature of the Sky+HD box, but also has a storage capacity of 1TB (Terabyte). That is four times more memory, which gives extra space for recording HD programmes. This box allows for 240 hours of recorded HD TV, or 740 hours of standard definition.

SkyHD box – available with Sky Multiroom

The SkyHD box is designed for Sky Multiroom, so that you can get high definition access in more than one room in your home. It is fully HD-ready, and includes the 7-day EPG, so it’s ideal as a secondary box. Once you have ordered the HD Pack and Sky Multiroom, you can watch different HD channels on both boxes, so everyone at home can enjoy the benefits of HD quality picture and sound whilst they watch TV.

Sky User Reviews

I have been with Sky for around 6 years now - and I have no complaints about their service. Sky+ is an essential part of my life - without it I would be lost. It allows me to watch all of my fave TV programmes and still have a social life at the same time! The ability to skip through the adverts is also a massive thumbs up - thanks Sky!

I've been with Sky for a few years now and I have to say that I have had no problems with the service at all. It can be a pain getting through to their call centre but I've had to do it so rarely that it doesn't bother me. The range of programming on Sky is excellent, arts and culture programming on Sky Arts to The Simpsons, there is rarely nothing on. Sky + has become essential for me so I can view the football anytime I like!

i recently changed to sky and decided to go for the sky hd package! to be honest, i was a bit scepticle as i didnt think there would be that much difference, how wrong could i be? i am a massive football fan, and watching a game in HD makes more difference than i could ever imagine, the sharper quality of picture is amazing ( and my tv is not the best, so god only knows how much better it would be on a slightly newer tv) i have even started watching more nature programmes as it really makes you feel that you could actually be there with attenborough himself. an extra £10 a month?? i would have paid more than double!! plus you get a nicer box than sky+ i say get the HD package and get even more out of your tv!!!

Ive been a Sky customer for over 10 years now. I now have sky plus and find that it has changed my viewing habits dramatically! Where as before I used to flick through the hundreds of channels almost continuously. I now have a "play list" of really great TV programs to watch and the press of a button. The one downside to Sky is that I do find it hard to get through to their customer service department during busy period to upgrade to SKy movies or SKy sports etc. Generally though I give Sky+ 9/10!...love it.
