Granada TV Region
The Granada Region is currently undergoing the Digital Switchover process, with the Douglas transmitter on the Isle of Man having already completed the switchover process. The Winter Hill transmitter which covers areas in and around Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire and north Staffordshire is due to begin a two-stage switchover process, with the first stage beginning on the 4th of November 2009. Stage two is due to begin on the 2nd of December 2009.
The reason for a two stage approach is that the first stage gives you a chance to check to see if your digital TV equipment is still working in the area once the first stage has begun. It is important that you have a digital TV solution in your home by at least stage one (4th of November 2009), so if you do not have digital TV in your home, you should check out the various types of digital TV available to see which digital TV service is best for you.
